We tend to get a lot of traveller’s from within Canada visiting us here at 10 Victoria Street, but this year we’re seeing a different trend. Our bookings from America are way up and we believe it’s due to the recent issues between our two countries. After the recent up and downs we immediately saw more traffic coming from America and bookings have started flooding in.
We know that this trade war has sparked a lot of fury with Canadians and they’re starting to cancel their US trips. However, it seems that Americans who feel bad for what’s going on are deciding to explore their Northern neighbours a bit more…and we welcome it!
Guests from America are up 64% this year, with an increase in iceberg viewing requests since the season has started a bit early. We are also seeing that those coming from the USA are booking much longer stays. I cannot say if this correlates with the strong USD, but it makes the most sense to us.

Traffic from the USA has also gone up 129% in the past month alone, and we expect triple that come May. Since most of the summer is quite booked up, cars rented, there is still some time to come visit before summer proper hits.
The 2025 Newfoundland Iceberg season is about to kick off and this is driving more and more eyes on us every year. We’ve been getting a lot of requests for iceberg viewing season and while it’s hard to predict, we’ve almost fully booked out for the end of May and most of June. We’re hoping more people call in soon and get to see this natural wonder with their own eyes.

We just need to let them know summer doesn’t end in August and September and October are some of the best month’s to explore this great province. The weather is still great and there are less tourists so you have more to yourself.
The typically slower months have notably picked up in bookings this year as well which is nice to see. As for the summer months, we’re almost completely booked out.
